Keynote 1

  • Michelle Tolentino
    Michelle TolentinoFormer ‘Compassion’ child

Michelle Tolentino lives in Manila and is the Co-founder and President of Made in Hope, a nonprofit organization that restores hope and crafts a future for exploited women and children in Asia Pacific. Michelle grew up in a small home with 17 relatives, several of her friends were sold into prostitution as young girls, and her father abandoned her family after years of drug addiction.

After receiving a Communication Arts degree, Michelle graduated with honours with a master’s degree in Spiritual Formation and Discipleship from the Theological Seminary in Chicago.

Michelle works with a team of children to co-host a weekly radio program aimed at children and youth, developing young leaders in Southeast Asia. Michelle remains fervently committed to bringing this same life-changing hope to those in desperate, hopeless situations around the world.

    Keynote 2

    • Sean W Smith
      Sean W SmithEntertainer

Since his humble beginnings as a Primary School teacher in 2004, Sean has grown to become one of the premier voices in children and family ministry in Australia. Sean has spent 8 months each year over the past 7 years traveling domestically and internationally encouraging children and families to make Jesus their number 1! “One of the things I believe God has called and equipped me to do is encourage and help grow strong Godly families.

Never before have our children’s identity, moral belief system and the value of family been so under attack by society as it is today. I believe God has laid on my heart to invest into our children and families to ensure we intentionally build and create a generation of young children who know their identity in Christ and parents who build their children strong in and on Gods word!”

Sean has performed to nearly 500,000 children in more than 500 schools and 350 churches world wide, as well as released 6 christian kids albums independently since 2008. He and his wife, Rina, and their children, Tyson & Taylor live in Adelaide.

      Twenty4

      Twenty4: Friday 3rd March.

Twenty4 is a gathering for leaders-of-leaders in ministry with children and families and is held in the ‘Twenty4′ hours before the IGNITE Conference.  This pre-conference gathering has been designed to encourage and equip those who lead teams in their ministry in their church or organisation.  Since 2013, ministry coordinators and children’s & families’ pastors have found Twenty4 to be equipping and inspiring, while also offering an opportunity to share ideas and encourage one another. Once again, we are excited to present excellent speakers who are passionate about ministry with children and families.

Linking in with the “Faith for Life” IGNITE theme, topics covered at Twenty4 will include the following speakers:

      • Rob Rienow talking about “A Senior Pastor’s Reflection on Family Ministry”. Rob pastors a church in Chicago, USA and will be joining us via Skype.
      • Jill Kayser talking about “Creating Child Friendly Churches”.  Jill leads the New Zealand based ministry Kids Friendly Churches.
      • Michelle Tolentino talking about “Empowering Children”. Michelle, from the Philippines, is one of our guest speakers at IGNITE.
      • Mike Hands talking about “Leading teams to do ministry well”.
