IGNITE Summit

(Previously TWENTY4)

Friday 2nd March

IGNITE Summit is a gathering for leaders-of-leaders in ministry with children and families.
This pre-conference gathering has been designed to encourage and equip those who are the leaders of kids & families ministry in their local church.  Since 2013, ministry coordinators, kids & family pastors, and kids’ and family ministry leaders have found this gathering to be equipping and inspiring, while also offering an opportunity to share ideas and encourage one another. Once again, we are excited to present excellent speakers who are passionate about ministry with children and families.

Kids Ministry is a specialised ministry which encompasses a variety of challenges and opportunities.  Our speakers are chosen to give insite into a variety of Kids ministry areas including Family ministry and leadership challenges.

At IGNITE Summit 2018, we are excited to welcome the following two speakers:

  • Frank Bealer
Frank Bealer CEO with Phase Family Centres

    Topic …
Based on his recently published book, The Myth of Balance, Frank will be explaining how a simple four-word formula can prepare you for the unexpected and not-so-unexpected events that distract you in the most inconvenient moments. Next time, be ready to slay the beast of balance with this time-tested approach.  As the CEO of Phase Family Centres, Frank is also going to be speaking about his passion of equipping families and speaking about strategies to do this well.
    .
    About Frank …
Frank is Executive Director of Leadership Development at Orange and serves as CEO of Phase Family Centers. Before joining Orange, he was family pastor at Elevation Church in Charlotte. He is driven to develop leaders to reach their full potential. Frank is married to Jess and together they have four children.  During his Skyped in presentation Frank will be speaking about how as leaders, we always say we need to achieve it for equilibrium in our work life or family time, but balance doesn’t really exist.

  • Terry Williams
    Terry Williams Scripture Union, International

    Topic …
Family is a verb. A verb is a ‘doing’ word and it is a ‘state of being’ word. We ‘do’ a lot in life…we do work, we do church, we do sport, we do entertainment….but do we ‘do’ family’? What is the ‘state of being’ in our families? God created this societal unit called a family for the nurture and development of the children that are brought into the world. A revisiting of some of the biblical texts will refresh our understanding of God’s heart for family. We’ll add to this an exploration of some of the Hebrew traditions, a good dose of research and some international perspectives so as to press the ‘rethink’ button in our ministry.
    .
    About Terry …
Terry trained and worked as a teacher in primary and secondary schools before joining the staff team of Scripture Union Queensland, where he has worked for 34 years as a specialist in children’s ministry. In 2008 Terry joined the SU International staff team, for half of his time, serving SU movements and partnering with other global networks.
Terry’s passion is to see children grow in their faith with Jesus for life and to find the ‘life to the full’ that He provides as well as supporting families in their primary role in faith formation. Terry is married to Margaret and they have three adult children and four grandchildren.
